Mary Ann,
Just something I noticed when you cook. In addition to your show we also used to love to watch Jeff Smith, The Frugal Gourmet. Like yours I have all of his cook book too.
Anyway I always remember him saying to scrape the food off your cutting board with the back of your knife. Not the blade side, too keep the blade sharp.
To this day I still do that, but I notice you scrape with the blade side.
Just a tip.
